A “slow decline in the epidemic” but not enough to lower our guard. This is the message of the Regional Health Agency in its update on Friday. All the indicators are on the decline, even if it is not clear and rapid: the incidence rate is decreasing (it is 159 per 100,000 this week), the incidence rate for those over 65 as well (83 per 100,000), the positivity rate (5.6%). “Under the protective effect of vaccination, the decline is even more significant among those over 65, the indicator is now everywhere less than 100 for this age group,” comments the Regional Health Agency.
An improvement in the hospital environment
The good trend in the indicators therefore allows us to finally see an improvement in the hospital environment: in the region, there are less than a thousand patients, a milestone that had not been reached since November 1, 2020. This Friday, we has 188 patients in Côte-d’Or including 39 in intensive care or critical care, a figure down compared to last week.
However, the deadly impact of the epidemic remains strong, as indicated by the ARS: “9 new deaths in hospital this week, bringing the number of deaths in health facilities to 4,655 since March 2020; 2,283 deaths are also to be deplored in the region’s medico-social establishments “.
Continue to apply barrier gestures
The health authorities remain vigilant, however, especially during this long extended weekend: “the ARS Bourgogne-Franche-Comté asks everyone to remain cautious and to continue to scrupulously apply preventive measures in all circumstances, use of screening in the event of signs suggestive of illness or risk of contact, isolation instructions. “
Mediators have also been deployed in markets or stations to “inform and offer tests during general public operations”.
Vaccination centers continue to operate
Finally, the health authorities recall that “health professionals and partners in the organization of vaccination centers in the region are also” on the bridge “to maintain the vaccine dynamic”.
On Friday, more than 850,000 people in the region received at least one dose of the vaccine. In proportion, this represents nearly 80% of those over 75, 70% of those over 60 and over 60% of people over 50.
