Leinster wants to send the EPCR back to its own inconsistencies
But, as the announcement of the starting lineup had suggested, they were ready to do battle on the lawn of GGL Stadium on schedule. In addition, the Irish province intends to point the finger at the EPCR’s own inconsistencies in the management of health risk in the organization of competitions. For this, the example of the match of the 1st day between Wasps and Munster seems appropriate. Indeed, the English team was able to remove from the scoresheet elements that tested positive for coronavirus the day before the match. In addition, to justify the decisions to cancel the matches instead of postponing them, the European body has argued a congested schedule. However, we are slowly moving towards a modification of the format of the competitions in order to allow the holding of the matches postponed this weekend to the dates initially planned for the knockout stages of the Champions Cup. However, it remains to be seen whether these elements will make it possible to reverse the decision … and whether Leinster will indeed launch this procedure which risks causing controversy.-
