The Environmental Impact of Urea Fertilizer and Safe Alternatives – Genezis Partner

This informative material is intended to shed light and clarify a little more the functionality of this fertilizer.

First of all, urea is a polluting fertilizer for the environment, already during production but also at the stage when it reaches the soil, i.e. during use, because it acidifies the soil and reduces productivity.

Our company produces urea but recommends Pétisó.

How does urea pollute and affect the soil and the environment?

Regarding the use of urea, it is important to know that in the autumn season, due to precipitation and temperatures, approximately 50-70% of the active substance evaporates or dissipates from the soil. In other words, it’s like wasting it and it also pollutes the environment.

In the spring season, somewhere around 50% of this active substance can evaporate in about 7 days, a procedure that takes place at a temperature of 20 degrees C. In other words, the loss occurs in this case as well.

But, in addition to all these aspects, we must be aware that this urea is not an environmentally friendly fertilizer.

Some say that urea is the cheapest version of the active substance, but it is not exactly so, but it is certainly the most polluting of those with nitrogen content.

What non-dangerous and safe alternatives do you have if you want to use ideal solutions for crop fertilization?

We recommend that you study the options a bit, and among the most recommended solutions is Pétiso, which contains 39% active substance. This product reduces soil acidification compared to urea, thus increasing productivity by improving nitrogen utilization and soil structure itself.

The active substance is composed of Nitrogen – 27%, Calcium Oxide – 7% and Magnesium Oxide. -5%. Pétisó contains the slower-acting ammonium nitrate and the faster-acting nitrate, substances in equal amounts.

Also, each ton of Pétisó contains 228 kg of dolomite, which improves the quality of the soil, does not have an acidifying effect and, at the same time, increases the pH level and soil productivity.

We recommend using this fertilizer for corn, rapeseed, potato, sugar beet, oats, horticultural crops and medicinal plants.

Then, Calcium and Magnesium help to improve the structure of the soil and the clay-humic complex makes its structure more porous, a structure that ensures the good circulation of air, heat and water. In addition, it also contributes to increasing soil fertility, by improving the ionic balance, it also contributes to increasing the absorption capacity and utilization rate of other nutrients.

What more could you want from such a product?
