-As the AstraZeneca (AZ) Corona 19 vaccine was released from the distribution warehouse in Majang-myeon, Icheon-si, Gyeonggi-do on the 25th, the journey toward the entire national vaccination began.

The AZ vaccine started with a transport vehicle (one-ton truck) heading to Yangsan, Gyeongnam, which left the warehouse at 5:50 am that day, and headed to the inoculation sites such as health centers nationwide.

The transport vehicle, loaded with vaccines, arrives at its final destination in front and rear escorts by police and military vehicles.

The vaccine that left the Icheon Logistics Warehouse on this day is 300,000 doses (1 dose = 1 dose) for 150,000 people arriving at the Icheon Logistics Warehouse from SK Bioscience factory in Andong, Gyeongbuk at 12:34 pm on the 24th. The vaccine (for 150,000 people) will be supplied to public health centers and vaccination hospitals near 5,800 nursing hospitals nationwide, and vaccination will begin on the 26th. In Jeju, the southernmost tip of the Korean peninsula, a frozen truck loaded with 3,900 doses of vaccine appeared at Jeju Port around 5:40 am.

154,000 people are eligible for AZ vaccine in Gyeonggi Province.

There are 73,000 hospitalized, residents, and workers under the age of 65 in nursing hospitals and facilities, mental care and rehabilitation facilities, etc., 67,000 health care workers at high-risk medical institutions, and 14,000 corona 19 responders.

From the 26th to March, the first vaccination of the AZ vaccine (1st vaccination) will be given to the hospitals and workers (73,000 people) such as nursing hospitals, and the additional vaccination (2nd vaccination) will be in progress in May.

In nursing hospitals where doctors work, medical staff will self-inoculate, and facilities that do not are inoculated by the health center team or commissioned medical institution.

Vaccinations for high-risk medical institutions (hospital-level medical institution workers, patients and workers in closed wards operating psychiatric medical institutions-67,000 people) will be inoculated from March 8th, and additional vaccinations (2nd vaccination) will be made in May.

Inoculations for 14,000 Corona 19 responders will also be made in March.
