Crowds of fans are waiting in Prudnik for the finish of the fourth stage of the Tour de Pologne cycling race. Cyclists of the most prestigious tour in our country are to report to Kościuszki Street, where the finish line is located, after 4:00 p.m.
While waiting for the professionals, the Tour de Pologne Junior is taking place on the city streets in the younger age categories.
– The route is not difficult, but there are sharp turns and a strong climb. The route is nice, but there are, as my colleague said, sharp turns. There is one climb. It is quite technical, it goes through cobblestones. The route is quite demanding. It is stressful, it is always stressful during competitions – say the competitors of LKS Ziemia Opolska.
The fans gathered around the finish line in Prudnik unanimously emphasize that such a high-profile competition has not been held here for a long time.
– Very cool. Prudnik really needs events like this, because it’s a bit quiet here. – It seems to me that everything is nicely prepared, in terms of the route. – We’ll see who will finish among the Poles. We have a flat, fast race, so we’ll see. Prudnik is famous for its cyclists. This was the cradle of cycling. Lots of names. – Great, great, very cool. I was there when I was younger, when Szozda was riding, there wasn’t such a great event then. It was communist. It’s great, great, I’m happy.
Let us recall that today the cyclists are racing on the Kudowa Zdrój – Prudnik route. Along the way, they will have to complete three intermediate stages and one category II mountain stage. The cyclists are expected to finish after 4:00 p.m.
