The corona virus also has a firm grip on amateur football. The ball has not been rolling for months – only two thirds of the autumn season could be played. At this point, we spoke to Philipp Stranimaier, who was still a kicker at SV Trieben in the Enns regional league in autumn, but has now switched to Spital am Pyhrn in Upper Austria, and talked about the pandemic, winter preparations, goals for the second half of the season and a lot more . Incidentally, the Triebeners overwinter in eighth place in the table.
LIGAPORTAL.AT: Corona has also occupied football enormously for a year: How do you deal with it and how deeply, in your opinion, is amateur football affected?
Philipp Stranimaier: “In my opinion, it is a mammoth task for every player and every club, on the one hand, to keep fit without regular team training and without motivation from the group. It is very difficult to keep so physically fit with all the restrictions. that you are ready for another restart. At club level it is of course difficult to keep the game going when sponsors leave, there are fewer spectators at the games and regulations and distance regulations are in the foreground in the canteens. I think the clubs live in the lower house of the income from the bar and that is getting less and less. I’m curious how this can be regulated somehow in the future. “
LIGAPORTAL.AT: How are you privately with the restrictions?
Philipp Stranimaier: “In my private life, of course, I adhere to the government’s regulations, but it’s difficult when you’ve only seen your circle of friends on your mobile phone or Snapchat for almost a year, with a short interruption.”
LIGAPORTAL.AT: Professional football continues – how dramatic is it to see the empty stands – and when do you think we will return to normal?
Philipp Stranimaier: “It’s strange. The atmosphere in the stadiums is a big part of the fascination with football, but I also have to say that you have already got used to it – because there is no other way for eban at the moment. In principle, I’m glad that you Watching football matches on television – a ray of hope in the otherwise dreary everyday life. However, I believe we will only see the return of the fans when the vaccinations are carried out. “
LIGAPORTAL.AT: How satisfied were you with the autumn in your previous team in Trieben?
Philipp Stranimaier: “I think that SV Trieben started the season with greater expectations. I can’t and won’t say more about it now.”
LIGAPORTAL.AT: How do you keep fit?
Philipp Stranimaier: “After moving to SV Spital / Pyhrn, I am very happy that cyber training is offered there twice a week with a qualified Crossfit trainer. I also go running because something else is not really possible anyway.”
LIGAPORTAL.AT: How did you move to Upper Austria?
Philipp Stranimaier: “SV Spital / Pyhrn has tried to help me over and over again over the past few years and since there were some incidents in our club that I couldn’t represent, I decided to move to Upper Austria. The league is certainly stronger, but I feel the fullest confidence from the coaching team as well as the entire club that I want to pay back with performance. “
LIGAPORTAL.AT: What are the goals for the second half of the season, if there are any?
Philipp Stranimaier: “For the second half of the season I plan to integrate myself into the new club as soon as possible and give everything to be successful with SVS. In my opinion, there is another level difference and that’s why I hope so soon as possible to get connected and to be able to establish myself in the KM. “
