New neighbours will receive an English version. The leading roles The Couple Next Door are played by Eleanor Tomlinson (Poldark) and Sam Heughan (Outlander).
The Dutch series, inspired by Saskia Noort’s bestseller of the same name, got a total of four seasons. In the first season of New neighbours shows how the couple Eva and Peter (Bracha van Doesburgh and Daan Schuurmans) come to live next to Rebecca and Steef (Katja Schuurman and Thijs Römer). They become friends, but a partner exchange has far-reaching consequences for that friendship.
Filming for the remake has started in the UK and Belgium. The English-language series has six episodes. It’s not the first remake of it New neighbours; a French version was also made earlier.
The series will air in the United States on Starz and in the United Kingdom on Channel 4. It is not yet clear whether The Couple Next Door will also be shown in the Netherlands.
