The Enemy – Resident Evil Village: Final explicado

Or end of Resident Evil Village it can be quite confusing for those who ignored the text files along the journey. So, if you want to understand the outcome of the adventure of Ethan Winters, just keep reading here. Just know: there are many spoilers below.

After the terrifying passage through the Baker Family Ranch, in Resident Evil 7, Ethan e Mia Winters were sent to an isolated location in Eastern Europe by Chris Redfield. There, in theory, they would be protected from the organization for which Mia worked: Connections.

They did not know, however, that the human biological weapon known as Mother Miranda had been interested in the couple when he found out that they had practically healed from the mold and had a daughter, Rose Winters. Miranda wanted Rose for her own purposes.

About a hundred years before Resident Evil Village, Miranda lost her daughter, Eva, who died of Spanish flu. Depressed, she decided to isolate herself in a cave to die, but found, by accident, the Megamiceto, which became an obsession of the researcher and led to the Mutamiceto.

Through the Mofo, who was created out of Mutamiceto, Miranda decided that she would try to resurrect her own daughter. She believed that people’s consciences (including her daughter) remained intact in Mofo and, therefore, she would be able to resurrect her daughter in some other infected body.

Rose Winters turned out to be the ideal receptacle for Miranda. After all, the baby was the daughter of two people who had been infected with Mold and survived. In other words, they were people with the capacity to adapt to Mofo. Soon, their daughter would be, too. Right?

Evidently, Miranda was right about the compatibility between Rose and Mutamiceto. After all, that was why the little baby could be divided into pieces and rebuilt without any permanent physical damage. Regeneration is a basic characteristic of those who are compatible with Mold.

There is another character who also demonstrated a very high capacity for regeneration: Ethan Winters. Yes, although he has not lost control over his own actions, he remains a kind of Human Mold. He uses Mofo’s skills normally in many scenes.

Not any human being can glue his hand back after losing it, right? So, clearly, Ethan is special. Just like the other four Lords. But no one can compare to Rose Winters, the daughter of two infected people who have kept Mold under control to some degree.

It is because he is infected that Ethan manages to regenerate himself from absurd damage, but even he would not survive what happened in the battle against Mother Miranda. Unfortunately, Ethan did die. However, the scene in which Eveline appears before him raises some suspicions.

Why did Ethan see Eveline when she was already dead? And why did he see Jack Baker at the end of the seventh game if his conscience had already left the body? Well, probably, Mother Miranda was right about the essence of people remaining at least partially intact in Mofo.

Not for nothing, Rose Winters is shown in the post-credit scene as an apparent ally in training for Chris Redfield and the rest of the agents. However, she is being watched even by a sniper from a distance. Apparently, no one is sure who she is.

Rose Winters as a baby, in Ethan's arms.

Perhaps Rose shares her own body with infected people from other times. After all, Miranda spent a lot of time with Rose’s body and maybe managed to awaken part of her own daughter inside the girl.

It may also be that the agent who plays by calling Rose Eveline is testing her body’s reaction to the provocation. However, we will have to wait to find out the truth.
