The Losberg School discharge students and the school management looked back over the past six years before the school leaving certificates were distributed to the 81 students.
No, the 81 school leavers from Losberg School were not in the wrong film, but they have all reached the end of secondary school. In her address, the headmistress Birgit Kentrup recalled that she and the students started at the Losberg School six years ago and that they had all experienced together.
Without complaint and very disciplined
Among other things, she named the flood disaster, the school trip to the Ruhr area, the introduction of the moving break, the school library and, finally, the corona pandemic with its restrictions.
“There was no final trip, hardly any contacts, no more sausage rolls in the kiosk. The now former students supported all of this with no complaint and in a very disciplined manner, ”said Birgit Kentrup, giving them kudos for it.
There were greetings from the representatives of the Catholic and Protestant Churches, Johanna Eikholt and Uwe Weber, and the representatives of the city of Stadtlohn, Berthold Dittmann and Marie-Theres Dücker.
Ruth te Vrugt pointed out in her address as the head of the school caretaker that a new way of life is imminent and that parents are always available as contact persons if necessary.
Outstanding results
Some of the pupils achieved outstanding results, as the school announced: 44 pupils have acquired the technical college entrance qualification, 70 percent of them with the right to switch to a grammar school. Three students have completed the learning course, five have even completed the secondary school leaving certificate after grade 9 and 30 students have achieved the secondary school leaving certificate after grade 10.
Despite the pandemic, everyone achieved their desired degrees, which was also attributed to the good support from the city of Stadtlohn. The digital equipment in Stadtlohn is exemplary: IPads, WiFi, modern presentation technology, support from the city’s IT staff, all of this goes without saying. There was an extra applause for the mayor, the council and the administration.
At the end everyone was sad, because there were wonderful years with great students at the Losberg School. Incidentally, Birgit Kentrup will of course stay at the school and for her and the staff it is now time to prepare everything for the new fifth graders.
