After a brief break-up last year, the two gave their relationship another chance. Yet the suds were not worth the effort: the two announced on Wednesday evening that their fairy tale together has ended.
Although Gio and Jade met as friends about six years ago, the spark quickly flew and they announced that they would now be a couple, much to the delight of their masses of followers on social media. Yet there seemed to be a serious problem when the two ended their relationship in the winter of 2022. “Our lives are too different to be together,” he said at the time. But in the spring of 2023, the two were spotted together again more often and it soon became clear that they wanted to give their relationship another chance. Until now. In his most recent video, Gio tearfully announces that their story is now over.

“Jesus, here we are again,” Gio begins when a tearful Jade sits next to him. “Yes, I think it’s clear. After a year of trying, we discovered that it didn’t work again,” he continues. “We don’t argue and we love each other very much,” Jade adds. “It’s better for us to remain friends rather than in a relationship. We don’t regret it at all, but yes, it just doesn’t work anymore between us,” the two said.

The two are now parting as friends and want to make it clear that they have no quarrel and that nothing went wrong between them. According to them, they are “too good friends to have a relationship”. Jade would also no longer be able to reciprocate the love that Gio gives her. “At some point you have to choose yourself,” is the conclusion of the two.
The two can already count on a lot of support from their followers, as is evident from the many heart-warming reactions under the video. Yet there are also some who think it’s all just a big “charade” and think that the ex-couple is doing this purely for the views.
With his 1.38 million followers on YouTube and 1 million followers on Instagram, the young Gio is one of the most popular internet phenomenons in the Netherlands. In recent years he has also become very popular in Flanders, with his cinema film ‘Project Gio’ also attracting many fans to the Flemish cinemas.
