Persian cat theft in Cinere, Depok City, was caught on CCTV and went viral on social media. The two perpetrators who turned out to be siblings this is finally caught.
Interestingly, the owner of the cat caught the two perpetrators himself accompanied by the police. The two perpetrators, SJ (20) and his sister MA (18), were arrested after being framed transaction cash on delivery (COD) by the victim.
This cat theft occurred in front of the victim’s house, Fairuz Ramdlan, on Wednesday (18/8) afternoon. In the CCTV footage, the brothers can be seen riding a motorbike passing in front of the victim’s house.
When passing, the two perpetrators saw Fairuz’s cat outside. They then stopped and caught the cat.
“At around 17.23 WIB, the victim saw from the gap in the fence that someone riding a motorcycle stopped in front of the house. But at first the victim did not suspect anything,” said Head of Public Relations of the Depok Metro Police, Kompol Supriadi in his statement, Saturday (21/8/2021) .

The victim became suspicious after seeing the two perpetrators rushing away after settling in front of the victim’s house. Out of curiosity, the victim then checked the CCTV around his house.
“From CCTV, the victim saw the victim’s cat playing in front of the house, then one of the perpetrators, who was ridden off the motorbike and immediately caught the victim’s cat. The perpetrator got on a motorcycle and immediately left with the victim’s pet cat,” said Supriadi.
Perpetrators Arrested during COD
After finding out his cat was stolen, the owner then traced it through social media. As a result, the victim found a Facebook account selling Persian cats.
The victim then tried to lure the perpetrator by pretending to buy the cat. After agreeing to meet, the perpetrator was finally arrested and handed over to the Cinere Police
“The victim knew and with the reason for the victim’s birthday present bargained and COD appointment with the perpetrator. The victim was subsequently arrested by the perpetrator and immediately handed over to the Cinere Police for further processing,” Supriadi said.
