While it used to be the case that banking matters were handled at brick-and-mortar branches, where clients often spent hours waiting and then additional valuable time before the employee at the counter printed out dozens of various sheets of paper and entered everything correctly into the system, today times are completely different. You literally carry your bank in your pocket and thanks to the mobile application you can do practically everything.
No one can avoid it
In this way, you can open accounts, apply for a mortgage or loan, invest in funds or shares, but also use a variety of related services, such as a bank identity. That is why mobile applications are the most important thing for banks today, as they communicate with their clients practically every day in this way. And if the experience of working with such an application is insufficient or even bad, there is a risk of the client leaving for another bank, and of course nobody wants that.
This is also why, for example, Česká spořitelna, which is otherwise the essence of that brick-and-mortar bank, invested so much a few years ago in the introduction of a new internet and mobile banking service called George. However, not everything was perfect, so now a rather fundamental change is coming, which will affect all clients. This is a significant step for the bank.
“The time is coming when you will finally have one app for all your digital banking needs. We will say goodbye to George with a key, because everything he can do, we taught George in the mobile,” said Česká spořitelna in an email sent to its clients.
So the point is that you will no longer have to have two applications installed on your mobile phone, which many people also confused and especially the older generation had certain problems with. The so-called George key, which was a program designed only to verify logins and transactions, will definitely disappear. Authentication will now work within the main application.

A gigantic event
“To merge apps, you’ll need the same authentication method you use in George Key, either a fingerprint, a face scan, or your six-digit PIN.” informs Česká spořitelna to its clients.
The transition to the new method has already begun, but is taking place in stages. The George key is used by an incredible 2.1 million clients, so the change cannot be made at once. When it starts touching you, the bank will inform you in time. However, the transition should be smooth and seamless.

Once you receive the information that you will be converted to a new model, you have one week to complete this transformation. The entire change will take place in the George mobile app, where you will only need your PIN, fingerprint or face scan. Česká spořitelna recommends that you check in good time that you remember your PIN. If you have forgotten it, you can collect the so-called activation code at any branch or ATM.
