The end of a revolt inside a prison in Argentina

Dozens of detainees in a prison in the Argentine capital, Buenos Aires, ended their rebellion, which began Friday, after a guard at the facility was confirmed to be infected with the emerging coronavirus, and they agreed to negotiate with the authorities, according to local media.
The rebellion lasted nine hours in the prison, which housed about 2,200 detainees, and the authorities did not announce any injuries.

Local media reported, citing sources in the Ministry of Justice, that representatives of the prisoners agreed to discuss their concerns with the authorities.

Security forces were deployed in the vicinity of Vila Devoto prison, and an AFP correspondent reported hearing explosions inside the institution.

A group of detainees managed to climb onto the roof of the prison and throw projectiles at the security team that was trying to contain the riots.
