In Star’s series about Argentina’s World Champions, defense remembers the family’s efforts in an emotional way
Otamendi was moved when he recalled his childhood and the difficulties his family went through before the Argentine became a professional player. The defender was even brought to tears when he remembered all his mother’s efforts.
“My mother accompanied me to training until I was 13. Then, because of travel costs, she no longer accompanied me. We had no money.
