The EMN-online Master, the international online course of the Master in Neurosciences at the University of Bordeaux, responded this fall to the call for “NENS Education and Training Clusters” with the cluster.Practical training modules in virtual reality’ (MoVir), in partnership with the Bordeaux start-up Practeex, the Master in “Brain and Behavior Research” from the Universitat Jaume I in Castellon (Spain), the doctoral school of the Nencki Institute in Warsaw (Poland) and the Polish company Elmiko.
The “NENS Clusters” program, launched by the FENS Committee for Higher Education and Training (FENS-CHET) in autumn 2020, aims to stimulate and / or strengthen cooperation between NENS university programs.
The MoViR project aims to design a virtual hands-on training on neuroanatomical tracing and electrophysiology. It will mainly be used to define the different steps to be followed to create practical work in virtual reality, their feasibility (from a technical point of view and at the level of the man-machine interface) and their use. The practical training envisaged in virtual reality will introduce Masters students and new doctoral students to experimental approaches. It will be carried out without having to face the ethical constraints of animal experimentation. The working group will eventually develop a virtual practical training that will serve as an online learning resource on the Moodle platform of the EMN-online Masters program and other postgraduate programs.
The next call for proposals for NENS education and training groups is scheduled for fall 2021.
