The ‘Emmy’ awards ceremony had record low ratings this year

In a three-hour ceremony hosted by Jimmy Kimell on ABC, he beat last year’s anti-record when the ceremony was watched by 6.9 million on Fox.

Among the major entertainment industry ceremonies, the Emmy was the first to take place in a virtual format.

Due to the precautionary measures of the Covid-19 crisis, Kimels led the ceremony in an empty arena.

The “Emmy” ceremony for the audience had to compete with Sunday night’s football match on NBC and the National Basketball League’s Western Conference finals on TNT.

Although the competition was fierce and the conditions for the ceremony were unusual, the downgrade is a trend that has been observed for several years. Back in 2013, the ceremony was watched by 17.7 million spectators.

It has already been reported that the series “Succession” and “Schitt’s Creek” triumphed at the ceremony, which took place on Sunday, September 20.
