Sheikh Mohammed ben Rashed Al Maktoum, Emir of Dubai, also Vice President, Prime Minister and Defense Minister of the United Arab Emirates, traveled to Morocco, where he is spending the end-of-year holidays. He was spotted shopping at Hay Ryad “Marjane” in Rabat. In a photo that went viral on social media, the ruler of Dubai can be seen stopping in front of an olive and spice stall in the capital’s shopping centre.

The Emir of Dubai is a friend of Morocco. During the Qatar 2022 World Cup, he repeatedly congratulated the Atlas Lions for their successive feats during the competition. Morocco has become the first African and Arab country to reach the semi-finals of a World Cup for the first time in its history.
