The EMA registers new side effects of vaccines against Covid-19: capillary leak syndrome

The European Medicines Agency (EMA) has just published two new adverse effects recorded on vaccines against Covid-19.

Capillary Leak Syndrome Registered for Moderna Vaccine (CFS). It is a serious disease, and at the moment rare, which involves a leak of fluid from the blood capillaries, generating swelling in the extremities (arms and legs), leading to a sudden weight gain, feeling of dizziness and fainting, thickening blood, reporting low albumin levels and low blood pressure.

Until now, the Medicines Safety Committee (PRAC) of the EMA causal relationship between this condition and vaccines had not been determined, but in the specific case of Modern It has been recommended that this warning be noted in the drug’s package insert.

It has also been pointed out by the EMA that, for the Janssen vaccine, a new side effect with “unknown frequency” should be included at the moment: small-vessel vasculitis with cutaneous manifestations. It supposes an inflammation of the blood vessels of the skin, which can generate rashes, red spots, bruises.
