Georges Primo
Georges Primo (April 1924) graduated from medicine in 1949. He became head of the department of cardiac surgery at the Brugmann University Hospital and also simultaneously headed that of the Erasmus Hospital which opened its doors in 1977. Prosector at the laboratory of anatomy of the ULB, it was fellow in cardiovascular surgery from the College of Medicine at Baylor University in Houston, Texas. He is the pioneer of heart transplantation in Belgium and has trained generations of surgeons.
