The elegant Marek Eben is an integral part of Czech cinematography, after all, he started acting in the 1960s. Loyal fans also know that Eben is a long-time supporter of the Citroën brand and has had several of these French cars in his garage. After all, he recently talked about it in an interview for Garáž.cz:
Eben jumped on the SUV bandwagon some time ago (following the example of most) when he rode the new Citroën C5 Aircross. But now, somewhat surprisingly, he went against the flow and chose the more traditional C5 X model for his travels. Yes, it also has elements of a crossover thanks to its robust body and protective plastics, but its silhouette is reminiscent of the iconic Citroëns of past decades.
What remains the same is the plug-in hybrid drivetrain in the guts. As the actor told us, he is ready for regular recharging. “I have a socket at my house, so I charge at home, and petrol will help on longer journeys. That is, a large amount of gasoline, because when the flashlight runs out, Otesánek wakes up under the hood,” he said some time ago. Now he could be more satisfied, although the combination of the combustion engine and the electric motor is the same, thanks to the more aerodynamic silhouette, consumption will be at least a few tenths lower.

So far, Eben has driven the C5 Aircross model.
Can Marek Eben imagine getting into an electric car without the help of an internal combustion engine? “Hopefully, in time, they will develop batteries that can travel for example 800 km, which would be interesting. But above all, the infrastructure must be improved, because so far it is one big disaster. Having an electric car at the moment would be such an extra stress during my travels that I’m not thinking about it yet,” said Eben.
Eben citroën has been in rotation for twenty years, so we were understandably interested in which one was the most popular. By his own admission, he loved the old C5 Break. “It was a station wagon with a not-so-elegant rear end, but when I opened that back door, it wasn’t a trunk, it was a cave. And the comfort that the car offered simply cannot be compared to anything,” adds the actor.

Even with the new car, Eben should enjoy the desired comfort, his C5 X, among other things, is equipped with active hydraulic stops and promises the comfort of a flying carpet. Hopefully Marek Eben will confirm this to us at the next meeting, in the meantime we wish him many happy kilometers!
