The elegant classic Jaguar that Madonna gave to her son Rocco to get around London

The curious stories of some of the vehicles that have survived to this day are well worth remembering in an article. This is the case of the peculiar Jaguar Mark X, an elegant car born in the 1960s that was aimed, due to its remarkable uniqueness, at heads of state, diplomats and personalities in general. The model presented several notable innovations for the time and cost less than half the price of the luxurious Rolls-Royce Silver Cloud, another of the models used by many personalities of those years.

Many people have noticed this Jaguar throughout history. So did the Queen of Pop herself, Madonna, who succumbed to its charms and not long ago bought a perfectly restored 1967 model. Although she was photographed with it on several occasions, it was not the car she used on a daily basis for her trips around London. However, it was her son, Rocco Ritchie, who did use it regularly until recently.

Madonna bought her son the 4.2-litre version of the Jaguar Mark X so he could drive around the English capital and its surroundings feeling like he was travelling back in time. The car has a six-cylinder engine. It is estimated that around 5,000 units of the Mark X were built with this engine, but it is not known how many of them have stood the test of time as well as Madonna’s car has.

It is estimated that around 5,000 units of the Mark X with the 4.2 engine were manufactured.

This particular example recently underwent careful restoration work. During the process, it received a new coat of dark maroon paint, recovered several chrome elements and the original rims. The bumper remains in perfect factory condition, as do the wing mirrors and several of the Jaguar emblems.
