The electrical installations of the Pauls Stradiņš Museum of Medical History do not meet safety requirements

VM explains that the partition cabinets in the building do not meet the safety requirements, the results of insulation resistance measurements show non-compliance with the safety requirements in half of the performed measurements. The wiring of the main inlet switchboard is older than its maximum service life of 25 to 35 years. In turn, one of the switches in the main switchgear heats up and the defect is classified as an emergency, which needs to be rectified immediately.

Also, several wiring elements do not meet the requirements, especially in the heating unit, in several permanent exhibition halls of the museum, where the wiring is older than 40 years and there are other non-conformities.

Accordingly, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs requests to allocate 17,775 euros for capital investments in the property owned by the Ministry at Antonijas Street 1, Riga, where the museum is located.

The Ministry encourages to direct funds obtained from the real estate sold at the auction of SJSC “Valsts nekustamie īpašumi” in Rēzekne, 18 November, 41A, which was entered in the Land Register in the name of the state in the person of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

Upon the alienation of the property, funds in the amount of 71,100 euros were obtained, from which the alienation expenses were deducted in accordance with the established procedure and 35,550 euros were transferred to the state basic budget revenue account.

The MoU adds that the above appropriation is allowed for capital investments or emergency measures with a positive socio-economic effect.

The government will decide on this issue on November 17.
