The third electric car from the ID family. you can already meet on domestic trips. Compared to the more angular four, the five has a bigger smirk and a suitcase, perhaps only passionate skiers will be disappointed.

After the ID.3 hatchback and the ID.4 crossover, the ID.5 model expands the range of modern electric cars of the Volkswagen brand. As the name suggests, it is closest to the “four”, but compared to which the stern of the novelty slopes more significantly downwards and thus brings a more attractive silhouette of the SUV-coupe. After the first ride in international rides are outside i complete Czech prices. The ceremonial launch of the model was just a nice formality.

The increasingly popular SUV category usually gives less space in the back and trunk for more money. But this is not the case with ID.5. Yes, I really have less space above my head in the second row (the carmaker has calculated that the space between the roof and the seat is less than 12 mm), but the luggage space is paradoxically larger. While the more angular ID.4 offers up to 549 liters, the “five” has six liters more. This is helped by the redesigned space under the floor, especially the other storage of the towing device.
However, the driver’s workplace is identical to the “four”. This means a minimum of physical buttons and control of almost everything through the touch screen of the multimedia system. He also experienced innovations, which will gradually be achieved by the owners of older VW electric crossovers. The update offers, for example, more information displayed in the digital instrument panel, more powerful charging (from the original 125 to the current 135 kW) without the need for chip verification, as well as the function of remembering and then repeating the parking maneuver on your regular stand.
The comparison with the group sibling Enyaq Coupé is, of course, appropriate. We still have to wait for the price, because the Mladá Boleslav sibling has so far only revealed the prices of the “eres” version. But we can look at small differences. The VW ID.5, unlike the Enyaqu Coupé, cannot support a roof rack. Whoever prefers practicality instead of attractive design will reach for the “four”, the representatives of the carmaker explain at the presentation. ID.5 with a skylight has the advantage. This can be covered here with a classic blind, which is controlled by a button, but even a voice. And those who don’t want a glass roof don’t have to have it at all. This is standard for the Enyaq Coupé.

The Volkswagen ID.5 price list starts at CZK 1,369,900 if you choose the basic Pro version with one electric motor at the rear (128 kW, 235 Nm). But I would highly recommend the surcharge for the higher version of Pro Performance. It is 42,000 CZK more expensive, but it gives the electric motor at the back better parameters (150 kW, 310 Nm), so it is 100 seconds earlier. At the same time, you will not lose a kilometer. In both versions, a 77 kWh battery is enough for 520 km. The car can already be ordered, the first pieces will appear on our travels.
