It has been known for a long time that Dodge is developing its first electric muscle car. A company about the entry of electric drive into this still purely gasoline class of cars even speaks of a new era of “muscular cars”. Now Carlos Tavares, head of the Stellantis concern, to which the Dodge brand belongs, has heard that the sound of the upcoming electric muscle car will be “shocking”.

“We’re making a sound you can’t imagine,” Automotive News quoted him as saying. “It simply came to our notice then. Once the (developers) create the sound, they will think about how to make it louder and give it more energy depending on how the car is used, ”adds Tavares.

In any case, electric cars and muscle cars share one characteristic – they are able to drive straight very fast. Perhaps this is where Dodge builds its words about a new era of muscle cars, which according to current information should begin in 2024 with the entry into the market. Already however, the unveiling of the concept is planned for this year.

However, the unveiling of the electric muscle car does not mean the end of the current Charger and Challenger models, as Tim Kuniskis, Dodge’s chief executive, has indicated in the past. But we know that the top Hellcat eight-cylinder compressor is likely to end in production before 2024.

Muscle cars were historically medium-sized cars with not very rich equipment, but an even more powerful engine; their purpose was to provide high performance at a low cost. Today it’s a little different, cars across the spectrum are getting better and better equipped, but Dodge is synonymous with the muscle cars class anyway.
