BMW has removed the iX3 electric crossover from the offer – the model is no longer found in the configuration, but the carrier will work only as long as the number of copies ordered.
The BMW iX3 is already history – the electric crossover will be removed from the model range, but will be replaced at the end of 2025 by a new electric drive model from the newly created Neue Klasse family.
Experts believe that the iX3’s days are numbered, as the model did not live up to expectations. It entered BMW’s offer in 2018, but with a price of 67,300 euros and a maximum range of up to 471 km, it could not really compete, losing both to the Hyundai Ioniq 5 (43,900 euros) and the Kia EV6 (46,990 euros), as well as the Tesla Model Y (44,990). In addition, the iX3 is manufactured in the Chinese city of Shenyang, so the customs duties imposed by the EU will also affect the price of this model.
In Germany, 3,100 BMW iX3 cars were sold in the first eight months of this year. This is not a bad result, but it will not compete with the smaller iX1 (7600 units), as well as the i4 (6600) and the new i5 (4600). Only the comfortable i7 and the iX2, offered since March this year, are worse than the iX3.
The BMW iX3 can no longer be ordered, but the assembly line in Shenyang will work until the second quarter of 2025 – until the total number of cars ordered by customers is produced.
