The Central Electoral Board (JEC) has urged Correos to resume sending Vox’s propaganda for the elections in the Basque Country and Galicia, not appreciating any violation of fundamental rights. The JEC thus pronounces on the query formulated by the State Correos Correos y Telégrafos Societyto retain those electoral envelopes “for violating article 16 of the Regulations for the Provision of Postal Services”, which prohibits postal items “whose wrapping or cover contains texts or drawings that violate any of the fundamental rights of the person.”
The JEC emphasizes that Correos does not identify “a concrete and specific violation of any fundamental right in the messages included in the envelopes that wrap Vox’s electoral propaganda.” “Neither does the Central Electoral Board appreciate that such messages incur in a violation of this type, therefore, sticking to the query raised, this Board believes that it is not appropriate to paralyze the postal distribution of the electoral propaganda of reference, and urges the State Society Correos y Telégrafos to immediately resume said distribution “, concludes
