The election of judges in 2025 will cost 13,205 million pesos, ratifies the INE

The election of judges will cost 13,205,143,620 pesos, according to the project approved yesterday by the General Executive Board of the National Electoral Institute (INE), in which this forecast is presented as a precautionary budget for fiscal year 2025.

As has been reported, almost half (6,830 million) would go to training, where the people who will enlist the polling station officials and travel the country to refine logistical details are prepared; A smaller amount (4,522 million) would be allocated to organization, an area that in ordinary elections is in charge of providing all the materials, including the ballots.

The third highest expense (1,124 million) is occupied by the Administration Department, and the rest by the areas that together would be responsible for 48 projects.

Of the amounts mentioned, both general and particular, they would dedicate – on average – 52.77 percent of everything allocated to payroll (chapter 1000, personal services), and only minor percentages to materials and supplies, general services, transfers and movable, immovable and intangible property.

For example, the Directorate of Training and Electoral Education would allocate 5,069 million to payrolls.

The project approved yesterday in the executive board must be taken to the General Council, in a session in which representatives of political parties will not be able to participate, only councilors, a measure that was ratified by the Electoral Court.

In the end, the INE will send its proposal to the Chamber of Deputies, via the Ministry of Finance, where the origin of the resources will be determined, whether fiscal or, as has been indicated in the Legislature itself, it will come from the trusts it has. the Judicial Branch of the Federation.

The general amount, 13,205.1 million pesos, is identical to what was disclosed in previous days in the INE working groups, which means that there were no reductions despite the fact that in different spaces, including the Presidency of the Republic, He suggested developing a more austere project.

This Friday, the session of the executive board was headed by the president advisor, Guadalupe Taddei; This board is made up of the main officials of the INE. There was no presentation of the topic, discussion or differentiated votes; It was a processing session and the vote in favor of the project was unanimous.

Additionally, the General Council must approve the regular budget of the INE for next year, calculated at 27 billion pesos, including here more than 7 billion that go directly to the accounts of the six parties with national registration.

In the case of the election of judges, it was determined to establish a budget of a precautionary nature, as is the case with the money allocated for eventual citizen consultations, in order to adjust it downwards or upwards depending on the circumstances.

The approved document confirms the powers of the INE and its General Executive Board to take this step and, at the time, manage the corresponding money for the election of ministers, magistrates and district judges in a free, direct and secret manner by the citizenship, the first Sunday of 2025.

As a result of the judicial reform, the General Council of the INE will be able to issue the necessary agreements for the organization, development, counting, surveillance and supervision of said election. There is added a period of information campaigns for citizens and promotion of voting.
