Theater “Lenkom Mark Zakharov” in honor of its 95th anniversary held celebrations, exhibitions and presentations under the code name “Five to a Hundred”. All generations of artists and guests have performed on stage. The eldest of the troupe, 88-year-old Nina Gorshkova, played the legendary Sophia Giacintova in the anniversary concert, who was the artistic director here in the 1950s. After the show, Express Gazeta spoke with Nina Pavlovna, who is now constantly engaged in two iconic shows – Juno and Avos and Memorial Prayer.

– Nina Pavlovna, how did it happen that on the anniversary day of the theater you appeared in the image of the aristocrat Yacintova?
– I worked with Sofia Vladimirovna and she was disposed towards me. Hyacinthova dressed very elegantly – in a very narrow black skirt below the knee, in white blouses with frills and strict jackets of a special silhouette. For my exit, I bought such a dress and, of course, high-heeled shoes. True, this year at the crew meeting, where I arrived in Italian stilettos, I fell hard. But on vacation she was still in heels.
– After the anniversary, one of the concert numbers was freely interpreted on social networks, namely the words: “They overturned I will accept from the pedestal.” Evil tongues decided that this is a hint of Mark Zakharov’s daughter Alexandra. What do you think of her conflict with theater director Mark Warsawer? Which of them is right?
– Mark Borisovich Varshaver is absolutely right. He does everything not only to save the theater, but in this difficult moment to give a job to all artists. He doesn’t leave the old ones to their fate, he thinks of the young ones and introduces the second compositions very correctly. He acts as the artistic director of the Moscow Art Theater that Oleg Tabakov did in his time. As soon as Oleg Pavlovich headed the theater and engaged the artists, the bottles immediately disappeared behind the scenes. And before that, the theater was bent from drunkenness. While not all of Tabakov’s performances were masterpieces, he saved lives and prevented tragedy.
As for Sasha Zakharova, she is madly sorry. She is lost. She lost her parents—first her mother, then her father—and has come to rely on people to use her. I would like to know: who is this bastard who advised Alexander to start a war against the theater, his colleagues and elders?
Luda Porgina, who also lost her husband – Nikolai Karachentsov – and came into conflict with Varshaver because of resentment, joined Sasha later. As a human being, I am very sorry for both Sasha and Lyudochka, but there is no truth in their actions. Therefore, none of us artists support them.
– Don’t you think that Mark Zakharov exaggerated the talent of his only daughter?
– Sashenka is a very talented girl and she deserved the status of lead actress. Mark Anatolyevich would never let the heiress spoil her plan. In this regard, he was very harsh and unforgiving. Ruthlessly and time. For some roles, Sasha has matured too much. But Warsawer didn’t take her job. I just made a second comp, which has always been the norm. He offered her new performances, but Sasha refused. And the actresses of the second composition were perceived aggressively and unintelligent. She started saying that she was great, and they were “girls from the crowd”. It is clear that she lived in a fairy tale – with her father, the “king”, her mother, the “queen”, but the fairy tale is over. Nobody hurt Sasha. I’ve seen how her aggression fills her mind, her soul. But she has no penchant for antics, like Lyudochka Porgina.
– What?
– For many years I have been friends with the family of Lyudochka and Kolenka Karachentsov. In my apartment there is a picture “Winter”, which Luda gave me. Porgina is impulsive, explosive and a big dreamer. One day she started telling everyone that I was sitting in a vase one evening. Yes, I’m petite, but I definitely wouldn’t fit in a vase.
– They say that Karachentsov’s mother did not accept Porgina?
– He just treated some manifestations of Luda with irony. I thought it was tasteless and plain. Once Porgina ordered a yellow floor-length dress and a hat with a brim from Slava Zaitsev. And in this form she went along Tverskaya. Yanina Evgenievna met her daughter-in-law and was horrified. And when Karachentsov’s mother fell seriously ill, she completely accepted Lyuda, who looked after her around the clock.

– Have you tried to reconcile Alexandra Zakharova with Mark Varshaver?
– I tried and I try. But Sasha committed a very bad act – she went to the Moscow mayor Sergei Sobyanin with a request to appoint her artistic director. She said a lot of mean things about Varshaver. Moreover, she Sasha quite seriously confronted Galina Volchek and she proved that she can manage the theater no worse than Galina Borisovna. Does Sasha really think that if her colleagues, with whom she has been working for decades in the theater, had seen her in the role of her boss, they would not have insisted on her appointment? Being a good actress doesn’t mean being a good leader.
– In the new version of Mark Zakharov’s performance “Memorial Prayer” you play the role of Bertha. How was Alexander Lazarev’s production perceived? Does he, the artist, have the talent of a director?
– Yes, I play the role of Tatyana Ivanovna Peltzer. Sasha Lazarev personally gave me the happiness to play this great performance again. We are all grateful to him for her careful attitude to Zakharov’s masterpiece. The whole concept of Mark Anatolyevich is supported. But we artists, according to the director’s intention, did not imitate our predecessors. He played his “Prayer of Remembrance”. I can honestly say that if it weren’t for this performance, I would no longer be alive. My beloved sister Natasha died of covid and I was left alone.
– Dmitry Pevtsov and Semyon Shkalikov managed to replace Karachentsov in the role of Count Rezanov in Juno and Avos, where are you also playing?
– Dima is very good in the role of Count Rezanov. Every day he gets better and better. He has experienced a lot in relation to this role, because in the beginning he was called a traitor. As for Shkalikov, Zakharov considered him a technical artist. Simon plays well. But personally, I don’t perceive him as Rezanov. What could be a graph with such a hunched back?
– How did the theater perceive the car accident involving Anna Bolshova, who knocked down a woman to death?
– We all believe and hope that Anya will be acquitted. It’s not her fault for the accident – another car suddenly jumped out, resulting in an accident. The investigation will conduct an investigation and establish the causes. Bolshova is a wonderful actress and a wonderful person.
