The exhibition ‘Chomón, the cinematographer of fantasy ‘ Promoted by the Institute of Teruel Studies (IET) of the Teruel Provincial Council (DPT), it opens to the Huesca public as part of the fiftieth edition of the Huesca International Film Festival. The temporary exhibition halls of the Museum of the Huesca capital host the exhibition until next Sunday, June 26, after its inauguration with the presence of the Deputy for Culture and Tourism of the DPT, Diego Piñeiro.
“The IET is proud that the Huesca Museum has decided to program this exhibition and that it has been integrated into the events of the Huesca International Film Festival, one of the most established festivals in our autonomous community”has indicated Diego Piñeiro.
Visiting hours are the usual for the Huesca Museum: from Tuesday to Saturday from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. and from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. and Sunday from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. The exhibition thus continues its itinerary after its last stop at the “El Caracol” shopping center in Zaragoza.
The exhibition has already traveled part of the province of Teruel, being contemplated by the public in Calanda, Andorra, the Teruel capital and Alcorisa. In this way, the IET continues to display its cultural programming throughout the province and other parts of Aragon, framed in the celebration of the 150th anniversary of the birth of Segundo de Chomón, which the cultural entity of the DPT has promoted with different acts.
Curated by the photographer and filmmaker Julio Sánchez Millán, the exhibition is made up of thirteen panels in which the life of Segundo de Chomón is recounted, from his birth in Teruel through the different stages of his life, but also the time in which he he lived, as well as the national and international projection he achieved with his work. It includes material from the Film Library of Catalonia, as well as the Institute of Teruel Studies and the Royal Photographic Society of Zaragoza.
During the first six months of 2022, hundreds of visitors have admired the materials and have joined the tribute that the IET pays to the filmmaker from Teruel. The next stop for this exhibition, on its itinerary through Aragonese geography, will be the Zaragoza municipality of Uncastillo.
