The entry of the cold front number 36 and its interaction with a polar trough and with the polar and subtropical jet currents will give rise to the Eighth Winter Storm, for which the State Civil Protection Unit (UEPC) reported that conditions of Partly cloudy to clear skies, with a chance of scattered showers in Sonora.

These forecasts and the possibility of sleet or snow falling at night, with winds of 15 to 30 kilometers per hour and gusts of 70 to 90 kilometers per hour, with a cold morning environment, values of 2 degrees Celsius below zero and a temperate environment during the day from 22 to 25°C, will be felt mainly in the central and southern regions of the State.
This cold front is expected to be accompanied by a winter storm, between next Wednesday, March 1.
In the area of the great Altar Desert, maximum temperatures of 16 to 20 degrees Celsius are expected, the same as for the northwest of the state today, while nights and dawns could record temperatures between 6 and 10 degrees Celsius.
In the north and northwest of the state, temperatures are expected between -1 to 4 degrees Celsius and -2 degrees Celsius and even lower in the mountains bordering the neighboring state of Chihuahua.
The UPC called on the population to heed the recommendations of the port authorities for the northern Gulf of California, since wind gusts of 80 kilometers per hour are expected.
Exclusively for San Luis Río Colorado, temperatures are expected where the thermometer could mark 4 degrees on the coldest day and 19 degrees on the hottest day starting this Sunday, February 26, with the coldest day being Sunday.
Wednesday and Thursday are expected to be cloudy days, however no rain is forecast for this week, only gusts of wind of up to 36 kilometers per hour.
Due to this weather, the schedule covered at the basic level is maintained until Friday, March 3, after the Ministry of Education and Culture responded to the recommendation of the UEPC.
