The Eighth Edition of the International Festival of Living Arts: A Cultural Event in Loja

In two days, the eighth edition of the International Festival of Living Arts opens. The organizers have everything ready for this cultural event that attracts the attention of the citizens of Loja and the entire national territory.

For eleven days you can enjoy 303 local events, 48 national, 29 international and 20 permanent exhibitions that will be in squares, theaters, streets, rural parishes and parks.

The joint work between the Municipality of Loja and the Ministry of Culture is reflected in this extensive agenda that is offered to the public, for this reason “we will put all the initiative, love and affection so that visitors and our people have a great memory of the festival,” said the mayor of Loja, Franco Quezada.

The festival will feature the performing, plastic, literary, visual and musical arts that will be made available to the community who, with enthusiasm, await this cultural event.

Joselyn Llacxaguanga, municipal coordinator of the festival, mentioned that to promote education, plays have been scheduled in the mornings in public spaces for children to attend.

They have coordinated with the District Directorate of Education these activities so that the schools take the children to these spaces and enjoy the presentations.

For those interested in art there will be free workshops, where they can exchange experiences and make art grow in the city. The artists are arriving in Loja and others will arrive during the week.

One of the events that will take place for the first time at the festival is the High line, which involves walking and remaining on a rope suspended at a high altitude. For this show there will be professional tightrope walkers such as Fernando Yánez, who belongs to a sports club that practices this discipline.

The mayor stated that the festival will also go to the El Cisne, Chuquiribamba, Vilcabamba and San Lucas parishes. Decorations related to the festival will be placed in these areas and will thus be integrated into the programming that will take place this year.
