The Eiffel Tower in Paris reopened today, closed since October in compliance with the measures implemented by the French government to limit the spread of the coronavirus. It was the longest closure since World War II and its reopening this morning was preceded by a countdown. Then cheers and a brass band to celebrate in honor of one of France’s top tourist attractions.
Given the health emergency, the number of visitors who will be able to access the Eiffel Tower will be limited to 10,000 per day instead of 25,000. From 21 July, adult visitors will also have to show a “health pass” made available by the French government to prove that they have been vaccinated or have had a negative result from a recent test for Covid-19.
