Egypt’s Olympic team has put forward the U-23 African Cup of Nations, to be held in Morocco.
The Egyptian Olympic team achieved a valuable and deserved 2-0 victory over its guest, Zambia, today, Wednesday, in the first leg of the final round of the qualifiers for the continental championship.
The goal of the match came in the second half, as Ibrahim Adel opened the scoring for the Egyptian national team in the 73rd minute, while Abdel Rahman Atef ensured that the second goal was scored in the 88th minute.
It became enough for the Egyptian national team to lose by a single goal in the return match that will take place in Zambia next Sunday, in order to reserve the candidacy paper for the African Cup of Nations in Morocco, which will be held next November.
On the other hand, the Zambia national team must win by 3 goals to qualify for the African Nations Under-23 Championship, which qualifies for football competitions in the 2024 Paris Olympics.
