As reported by Science Alert Saturday (27/5/2023), South Korean astronomer Yeom Bum-suk advises amateur astronomers to use eclipse glasses to block 100 percent of the sun’s ultraviolet (UV) and infrared rays to protect the eyes.

“The giant dot is crossing the Sun and I can see it clearly with my sun glasses,” he said. He added: “Be careful! You should use eclipse glasses or sun filters to protect your eyes.”
