The pattern of human life that is minimal in activity has an important role in a person’s risk of having Diabetes Mellitus. Someone with sedentary behavior such as reading, sitting, watching television will increase their eating pattern which results in weight gain which can cause disease due to this lack of movement.
If we spend approximately 70% of the day sitting and lying down, we are at risk of experiencing insulin resistance. This condition causes an increase in blood sugar levels so that it causes a person to have the opportunity to develop diabetes.
Especially when sitting or lying down, many people tend to look for unhealthy snacks. These snacks may contain high sugar, thereby increasing the risk of developing diabetes. So the next disease caused by sedentary lifestyle is diabetes mellitus, which is a disorder of the carbohydrate metabolism system characterized by a disturbance in the body’s ability to produce or respond to insulin so as to maintain glucose levels in the blood properly.
