Symptoms of high cholesterol in the ear
Hearing loss is one of the less common warning signs of high harmful cholesterol in the blood. It usually occurs gradually and affects the ears equally.
Hearing loss in cholesterol patients begins with difficulty hearing high-pitched sounds or understanding conversations in noisy places, and if left untreated, it may develop over time to the point of deafness.
High cholesterol causes hearing loss, as a result of the accumulation of fatty plaques in the blood vessels feeding the ears, which leads to a decrease or interruption of the flow of oxygenated blood to them.
