“Freedom of the press, or the media, have two main functions: one is to inform and the other is to denounce, denounce with investigations, cases of corruption, or whatever may be behind plots of various kinds”explained Laviña, 59 years old.
The ambassador, born in Oviedo, added that another of the great values of Agencia EFE is the trust it enjoys worldwide.
“The EFE Agency reports, because photography is information that is always truthful. And the information is true, or it is not information”Lavina added.
The diplomat also recalled that a democracy without freedom of expression is “a chimera” and therefore, “It does not exist, I know of no cases.”
