The “Westliche Neustadt” elementary school on Wolfgang-Borchert-Strasse in Halle-Neustadt is in a critical structural condition. The plaster is crumbling, sockets are broken. The city is not allowed to take out the loans necessary for the renovation. According to the State Administration Office, there is no evidence that the renovation is irrefutable.
The education committee decided on Tuesday, without much discussion, to stick to the renovation and take out loans for it. The state administration office is asked to approve the taking out of investment loans for this purpose.
There is also a crisis summit at the school on Friday. School management, parents’ representatives, city councillors, but also the municipal supervisory authority take part in this.
