The edge protruding from the field… The identity is ‘500 years old goddess’

Provided by the National Institute of Anthropology and History (INAH) in Mexico-A man in Mexico found an ancient 500-year-old statue while plowing a field to plant watermelons.

According to a Reuters news agency on the 29th (local time), farmer Cesar Cabrera, 52, discovered that the edge of a limestone mass was rising while plowing a field for watermelon cultivation.

A few weeks later Cabrera pulled it up with five other men, and encountered a life-size statue that appears to have been buried for centuries.

Cabrera said, “Look at this! It looks like a goddess!” The farmers carefully loaded the statue onto the truck and took it to Cabrera’s house.

Experts also said the statue was one of the ancient civilizations of Mexico. It was created during the Uastek civilization, and was considered to be highly likely to represent elite women in the community at that time. The statue is estimated to be over 500 years old.

Kim Richter, an expert on the arts and culture of Huasteca at the Getty Institute in Los Angeles, commented on the discovery of the statue. It reminds me that I have a legacy to do.”
