Local Hungarians, such as elderly, lonely people and families with children, continue to be supplied with food and fuel. László Lehel, president and director of the Ecumenical Aid Organization, told Mandiner,
they pay particular attention to ensure that not only Hungarians receive subsidies, but also other communities, so that envy does not drive a wedge between people.
The president-director told the newspaper that they have already supported 250 institutions in Subcarpathia that temporarily accepted refugees. A good part of them – kindergartens, schools, community centers – had to be made suitable for people to live in them from one moment to the next, so they tried to be flexible.
