Zakharova compared it to racism the EC’s decision to ban of Russians to import personal items on the territory of the union
Former Russian President Dmitry Medvedev suggested Moscow cut all diplomatic ties with the European Union after Brussels imposed a ban on Russian citizens entering the bloc with a range of Russian-made items – whether for trade or personal use.
In a telegram, he compared the decision to racism and stated that through it
The EU “spits in the face of
every Russian”, saying that they are treated as “half-animals with bad genetics”, TASS reported.
“What should we do? Of course, let’s not introduce retaliatory restrictions on EU citizens, we are not racists unlike the leaders of these countries whose relatives serve in the spy services. Moreover, those who come to us usually love and appreciate Russia”, added Medvedev. According to him, it would be better for his country to temporarily suspend its relations with the EU and

Only such a step could make officials in Brussels really afraid, “because embassies are evacuated before certain events”. With this, he once again played with the nuclear rhetoric he has periodically directed at the West since the beginning of the war. Russian Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Maria Zakharova also called the restrictions racist.
On September 8, the EC clarified the sanctions by announcing that Russians cannot import into the EU territory, even temporarily, personal items such as cosmetics, smartphones, laptops, semi-precious or precious stones, suitcases, leather goods. Citizens of Russia cannot enter the EU with vehicles with Russian license plates.
At the same time, Dmitry Medvedev threatened the USA with new attacks like those of September 11, 2001, but this time with nuclear or biological weapons. Medvedev did not directly say that Russia would be behind such an attack. The former president made the threats on the anniversary of the terrorist attacks that killed 2,996 people.
“I don’t want to predict, but the United States will understand that at some point the terrorists will carry out another attack in the style of September 11, 2001, but with a nuclear or biological component. Or worse: one of the leaders of the nuclear states will lose his temper and make an emotional decision to use weapons of mass destruction. Moreover, the nuclear club is constantly expanding and a significant part of it is not bound by any obligations. And then it’s game over. All that remains is to collect money for a new monument at Ground Zero,” Medvedev threatened.
Last month, he again claimed that the US and other Western nations were pushing the world towards a third world war.
