The economic journalist José María Camarero analyzed in laSexta Xplica the continuous increase in housing prices and the difficulty in accessing credit. Furthermore, he was totally against resorting to personal loans when banks deny a mortgage.
“If what we don’t want is for there to be another real estate bubble and another great recession like the one we had and which left us six million unemployed, we must avoid these types of measures,” explained Camarero.
In this sense, the journalist responded very forcefully: “You can’t tell people that, if they don’t give you a mortgage loan, ask for a personal loan to get into more debt, to get over-indebted and to be drowning. When they get things wrong, what? “Who is going to answer for that?” “It’s a mistake,” he added.
At that point, José María Camarero highlighted the importance of “having savings”, although in many cases the precariousness of the labor market prevents this.
