Lhe acute collecting of Andy Warhol is well known. His voracious appetite for accumulation and his thirst for permanent novelty extended to watchmaking. He made no secret of it, he wore watches to be in tune with the times, not to know the time and even less to rave about the quality of the barrel or the hand-polishing of the screws. In this he anticipated the current trend of flex, as the Anglo-Saxons say, always fond of colorful expressions that hit home. THE flex, it is this famous contraction of the biceps, prior to any demonstration of force. Figuratively, it evokes the ability to impress the gallery. For example, wearing a rare watch as a hunting trophy.
