The ECG in the Samsung watch already works in the USA. Will we ever see it in the Czech Republic?

The Galaxy Watch3 and Galaxy Watch Active2 smart watches already provide electrocardiogram (ECG) function in another region. The South Korean company Samsung in the USA obtained the necessary FDA certification for these products. So the owners of these watches now have access to a health function that was previously only available in South Korea. The word “health” is a bit tricky. Samsung itself warns customers that the measurement is for guidance only. And that customers shouldn’t consider it comparable to a doctor’s. Either way, they already have the aforementioned Samsung watch ECG measurements in the USA.

The extension of this function to other regions is problematic precisely because of health regulations. The manufacturer boasts that the watch has a meter, but in the vast majority of countries it is not possible to use it. Until, than Samsung “circulates” the appropriate authorities and obtains a permit. Deployment is still quite slow so far. In the US, Samsung watches received ECG measurements now in September, the first launch of the feature took place in South Korea in May. Probably other states will see, but there is no official launch plan for Europe yet. So it is difficult to judge when and if we will see in the Czech Republic at all. In our market, meanwhile, they have been given the same function thanks to the new certification Fitbit Sense watch.

Do you find the ECG measurement in your watch important?
