Dr. Hisham Shawqi Masoud, Undersecretary of the Ministry of Health in Sharqia, continued to vaccinate citizens with the quadrivalent seasonal flu vaccine, “vaxigrib”, at a second health office in Zagazig, as part of the state’s preventive plan, to confront seasonal influenza viruses as one of the preventive and precautionary measures in the face of the emerging corona virus “Covid-19” .

The Undersecretary of the Ministry was assured of the regularity of the workflow, and stressed that all preventive and precautionary measures be taken during work, and the Director of the Health Department in Zagazig directed to provide more than one medical team or outlet in the event of the increasing demand of citizens to be vaccinated with the influenza vaccine.

Dr. Hisham Masoud explained that the influenza vaccine is available in 11 health offices in the health departments in the governorate, namely, “Zagazig, Al-Qanayat, Derb, Belbeis X, Abu Hammad, Abu Kabir, Kafr Saqr, Al-Husseiniya, Minya Al-Qamh, and Faqous”, to vaccinate those who wish to be among the citizens in the governorate.

He pointed out that the vaccination with the quadrivalent seasonal influenza vaccine will take place inside health offices only through the medical teams in them, and it is not allowed to take the vaccination outside the office, and that the new vaccine keeps pace with the new modifications of the virus, stressing that it is safe, and is subject to all kinds of tests that ensure its safety for the public. Vaccination for citizens who wish from the age of 6 months or more, especially the most vulnerable groups of children, the elderly, those with chronic diseases (respiratory, heart, diabetes, immunological diseases, etc.), and pregnant women, after completing the personal data of the recipient and filling out a form before Vaccination with the forms designated for that.

And «Masoud», bearing in mind the necessity to follow some instructions before vaccination, including postponing vaccination for people with severe fevers, and preventing vaccination for those with a previous history of hypersensitivity reaction to any of the components of the taste (eggs – formaldehyde – neomycin – actoxinol_9), and in the case of vaccinating women Pregnant women are reviewed by the attending physician, and that the vaccination starts from the age of 6 months or more, a full dose of the vaccine, and for children under 9 years of age who have not received any doses of the seasonal influenza vaccine in previous years, they are given two full doses, separated by a period of no less than 4 weeks, provided that For infants, the place of vaccination should be in the anterior thigh muscle, and for adults, it is in the muscle of the arm or under the skin, and the quadrivalent seasonal flu vaccine is not given intravenously under any circumstances, stressing that all preventive and precautionary measures are taken during the vaccination, and that it has been emphasized Intensifying the necessary awareness to encourage citizens to receive vaccination within the framework of protecting the health of citizens in the governorate from seasonal influenza.
