Characteristics of the earth’s crust

The thickness of oceanic crust is between 5 and 10 kilometers. Meanwhile, continental crust is around 20 to 70 kilometers thick.
Basalt is the main rock that makes up the oceanic crust. As for the continental crust, its main constituent rock is granite.

- The earth’s crust is the layer where living things live
- The thickest layer can reach 65 to 70 kilometers
- The surface has mountains, vast land areas, and ocean trenches.
Other features of the earth’s crust are hard and dense, and formed as a result of the earth’s mantle freezing.
