The Earth Is Getting Critical, Turn Down the Heat To Prevent Arctic Ice Melting

Circumstances planet earth increasingly critical because of global warming and climate change, Epson is collaborating with National Geographic to raise awareness actions to protect the world’s permafrost – the frozen land beneath Earth’s polar regions – by launching the ‘Turn Down the Heat’ campaign.

The campaign comes at a time when scientists predict that the world’s ice sheets will completely melt by 2100, this could drastically change the ecology, raise global sea levels and release more than 950 billion tons of methane into the atmosphere.

Therefore, Epson with National Geographic collaborated to raise awareness about how we can reduce the impact of global warming starting from homes, offices and other businesses. The “Turn Down the Heat” program is led by National Geographic Explorer, Dr. Katey Walter Anthony, who oversees Arctic observatories in Alaska and Russia to monitor the long-term impacts of climate change. His first research into Permafrost protection was featured in a series of videos, infographics and online content.

“The Arctic has literally melted before our eyes. We estimate that up to 10% of projected global warming this century could come from melting ice sheets, and this will affect the entire earth. What happened in Arctic Pole It doesn’t just happen at the North Pole. Our choices in work and life really matter. When we and businesses can make smart decisions in choosing the technology to use, it will make a positive impact and difference to our environment.” says Dr. Katey Walter Anthony – National Geographic Explorer

Conserving energy is critical in preventing global warming, but many technologies consume significant volumes every day in businesses or homes every day. To prevent global warming and save energy, Epson’s pioneering range of printers equipped with Heat-Free Technology can prevent and reduce environmental impact with the use of low energy sources and fewer replacement parts.

“Sustainability is at the heart of everything we do at Epson. We are committed to not only reducing our environmental impact but helping our users to do so too. We look forward to making a difference in tackling global environmental concerns with our users and business partners through our technology.” Says Yasunori Ogawa – Epson Global President
