Dutch people who are able to insulate their home even better are also encouraged to do so. The Dutch government is also making millions of euros available to tackle the worst insulated houses.
The Dutch government itself is also setting a good example by turning down the thermostat by two degrees in approximately 200 government buildings. Their buildings will also be less cooled in the summer months. The Dutch government is not only calling on private individuals to reduce their energy consumption. Companies are asked to thoroughly examine how savings can be made on heating, ventilation and lighting.
“These steps will lower your energy bill, reduce our dependence on gas from Russia and are better for our climate,” the advertisement reads.
