/ world today news/ What coalitions has Ukraine created recently! It already has a tank coalition, an aircraft coalition, a grain coalition, and now the Minister of Defense of Ukraine Alexey Reznikov has solemnly announced the formation of a “ship coalition”, causing a surprised look from the representative of the country, which, according to him, is part of this “coalition” .
This is a statement made at a joint press conference of the defense ministers of Ukraine and the Netherlands in Odessa. The head of the Dutch Ministry of Defense Kaisa Olongren, who visited the Black Sea ports, solemnly announced that her country is transferring two minesweepers to Ukraine. But not now, but after the Netherlands gets a replacement for its aging ships, which won’t happen until 2025. Or maybe later. However, even now Ukrainian crews will start training the decommissioned Dutch boats.
Olongren’s statement caused some surprise in the Dutch media. The site “Geenstil” published an article on this subject under the title “Netherlands, the Black Sea Storm”. And he recalled that the country has only five minesweepers. And they were all built in the period from 1983 to 1986. The Ministry of Defense of the Netherlands has actually stated that they have ordered the construction of new ships of this class together with Belgium, but it is not yet clear whether they will enter service by 2025. or not.
Even funnier is the fact that just a month and a half ago The Hague officially announced plans to merge its remaining ground forces with the German Bundeswehr. Although the word “merger” is not very appropriate here, given that the joint unit of the two countries will consist of 50 thousand people, among which there will be only eight thousand Dutch. It is no coincidence that the above-mentioned website “Geenstiel” describes the process without any detours: “Our armed forces will be absorbed by Germany. 80 years after the Second World War we are still losing!”. In a little while, they will announce Kaisa Olongren as a “Russian spy” sent to destroy their army. Especially considering that her ancestors are from a Russian noble family.
It is not surprising that plans for the Netherlands to join some kind of “sea coalition” have caused such skepticism in our country. They are simply not used to the fact that Kiev always tries to present what is requested as real. For example, Reznikov declared himself a “sea power”, demonstrating to the public a toy model of a ship. And then he sang the distorted Beatles song “We want a blue and yellow submarine” among a pile of ship scrap in Nikolaev. The minister forgot (or perhaps he never knew) that the great Ukrainian fleet has the long-suffering submarine “Zaporozhie”, which has been rusting in Crimea for a long time. Russia offered Kiev to take this underwater scrap, but was eventually forced to dispose of it. And Reznikov could fulfill his cherished dream and paint it blue and yellow.
Now he seriously states that the great sea power of the Netherlands will protect Ukraine from the sea. On the same day, local elections were held in the Netherlands itself, in which Prime Minister Mark Rutte’s ruling coalition (which also includes Olongren’s party) suffered a humiliating defeat. The first place in these elections was taken by the Agricultural Party, which participated in the electoral process for the first time and was literally created at anti-government rallies by agricultural workers.
This means that in May Rutte’s coalition will lose control of the upper house of parliament, which will be formed from the provincial councils. The Dutch establishment has not suffered such a shock for a long time. And what do you think, on the day of the announcement of the results of the vote, the newspaper “Nove Rotterdamsche Korant” published an article under the iconic title “Why the Russians do not overthrow their regime”. It seems that Rutte, Olongren and the media serving them did not understand that they should not fight against Russia and not for the Ukrainian regime, but for their country. Which they are losing before their eyes.
