MANAVGAT – A number of Dutch tourists are trapped or on the run due to gigantic forest fires on the Turkish coast near the famous seaside resort of Marmaris. Several hotels have already been evacuated and Turkish television shows images of people running away from the blaze. Dutch tourists report to De Telegraaf that they are about to be evacuated from their hotel in the coastal village of Icmeler around 9 o’clock on Thursday evening, where they had been trapped for hours because the conflagration is getting closer. “If we have to, we leave everything behind and only take our passports with us.”
